Screenreader accessibility of Google Chrome and Google Docs?

So, I just interviewed for a job that I really, really want. Everything about it is looking good so far, but I'm in the habit of researching softwares just to make sure they'll work with AT before accepting a position. This one will involve some use of Google Chrome and Google Docs. I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with these media and whether their accessibility has improved. Last time I tried them, they were an absolute disaster, but I assume some strides have been made since then. Anyway, I'll read about it online, but I wanted to start out here because I feel others' experiences are more useful than articles and manuals that allege accessibility of programs but don't say how or why, etc. For the record, I use the latest versions of JAWS and NVDA. :) Any feedback is muchly appreciated!

Thanks,
Mel

Holy Moses, there's a JAWS 17? And here I thought I had the most up-to-date one. I have 16. I did just install some updates, though, so maybe it's 17 now.

It is in beta yet, but mostly likely will be released as a full version some time in November.
16 works okay with them too.
Why don't yyou download them and play with them. You'll have a learning curve.
17 is the better,, but 16 works with these.
Nothings perfect, but you should be able to work with it.

So it doesn't work that well on earlier versions of jaws?

Chrome worked and has worked reasonably well for me. I just didn't like it enough to use it all the time.
As to Google Docs and other services, Jaws 17 has added features to help with this.
I suspect the items will get better as the beta is tweaked.
It is becoming necessary to colaberate with others online in web based documents and such, so Jaws has added support.

Google Docs works ok with JAWS 16, note that to date Google recommend
NVDA as the most effective screen reader to use with Google Apps under
Windows though I haven't noticed its performance to be much better than
JAWS's.

I have WindowEyes 9.2 now, and I started using Chrome on my old laptop. It worked pretty well on this particular website that I like, which is choiceofgames.com. Granted, therefore, that I only used it with a gaming website, but I was able to buy a bunch of games that I really couldn't do before on a Windows machine and install them with no problem. I don't know anything about Google Docs though. Good luck.

Anybody know how well these work with OSX 10.11? I'm still hesitant to put a bunch of crap on my new Mac until I know for sure it's going to work. My son's school uses Google apps for just about everything so I'll probably put it on there for him.

Try chromevox extention. it is an alternative screen reader extention for google chrome. I heard people said it works great with google products especially, google docx.
